How to use it
- Type your page title, address, and meta description into the fields.
- Watch the live preview update as you type.
- Switch between desktop and mobile, and keep each field inside its pixel limit.
On desktop, titles are usually cut off past roughly 580 pixels, or about 50 to 60 characters. Descriptions are cut off past roughly 920 pixels, or about 155 to 160 characters. Mobile is tighter, so put the important part first.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Google measure in pixels?
Different letters take up different widths, so a line of narrow letters fits more characters than a line of wide ones. Pixel width is the accurate measure.
Will Google always use my description?
Not always. Google sometimes writes its own snippet to match the query. A clear, relevant description improves the odds that yours is used.
